About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Test Automation Engineer for a contract position. With 1 year of experience, you will play a crucial role in developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to various client projects, operating with no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with development and quality assurance teams to understand project requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our automation testing processes, tools, and frameworks.
- Participate in test plan and test case reviews to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Provide regular updates on test progress, defect status, and overall quality metrics to project stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of professional experience in Quality Assurance or Test Automation roles.
- Foundational understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred Requirement
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured).
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of database concepts and basic SQL querying skills.
- Relevant certifications in software testing or automation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a contract environment.
