About the Job
UCTalent Labs is seeking a passionate and driven Junior Blockchain Engineer to join our innovative team. In this full-time role, you will be instrumental in building the UCTalent Protocol – a trusted decentralized talent network. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge blockchain technology, developing smart contracts and decentralized applications that will shape the future of talent acquisition and management. As an individual contributor, you will work closely with our engineering team to design, develop, and deploy robust and secure blockchain solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy smart contracts primarily using Solidity on various blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain).
- Design and implement decentralized applications (dApps) and their underlying infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define feature specifications and technical requirements for the UCTalent protocol.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, adhering to best practices in blockchain security and development.
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high-quality code standards.
- Research and evaluate new blockchain technologies, protocols, and tools to integrate into our ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues related to blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, and dApps.
- Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our decentralized network.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1+ years of professional experience in blockchain development, with a focus on smart contracts.
- Proficiency in at least one smart contract programming language, such as Solidity.
- Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, cryptography, and decentralized system architectures.
- Experience with blockchain development frameworks and tools (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle, Foundry).
- Familiarity with common blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Polygon, or similar EVM-compatible chains.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to writing secure and reliable code.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Requirement
- Experience with Web3 libraries (e.g., Web3.js, Ethers.js) for interacting with smart contracts.
- Familiarity with decentralized storage solutions like IPFS or Filecoin.
- Understanding of layer 2 scaling solutions (e.g., Optimism, Arbitrum, zkSync).
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD) methodologies for smart contracts.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices for smart contracts (e.g., OpenZeppelin contracts).
- Prior contributions to open-source blockchain projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
- Familiarity with concepts in decentralized finance (DeFi) or decentralized identity (DID).
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving industry.
