uctalent labs is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Junior Decision Scientist to join our team. In this entry-level, full-time position, you will play a crucial role in empowering our CEO to make informed strategic decisions. Working as an individual contributor, you will leverage data, analytical techniques, and critical thinking to uncover insights, evaluate strategic options, and provide actionable recommendations that drive business growth and success. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to directly influence high-level company strategy.
Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze complex datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and key insights relevant to strategic business questions.
- Develop and implement analytical models, simulations, and statistical analyses to forecast outcomes and evaluate the potential impact of different strategic choices.
- Translate complex data and analytical findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives and visualizations for executive-level consumption.
- Prepare and present data-driven recommendations to the CEO and other senior leadership, supporting strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand business challenges, define analytical requirements, and gather necessary information for strategic analyses.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, providing post-mortem analyses and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science, analytics, and business strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- 0 years of professional experience (entry-level welcome). Relevant academic project work, research, or internships will be considered.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to break down complex issues.
- Proficiency in at least one analytical programming language (e.g., Python, R) or strong aptitude for learning new tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong foundational understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis methodologies.
Preferred Requirement
- Master's degree in a quantitative field.
- Previous internship or academic project experience focused on data analysis, business intelligence, or strategic consulting.
- Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, ggplot2).
- A basic understanding of business principles and strategic frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from various sources and form well-reasoned conclusions.
