About the Job
The Danang University of Technology is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team as an entry-level, part-time UC Ruby Data Scientist. This role offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring data professionals with 0 years of experience to apply foundational knowledge in data science within an academic research environment. The successful candidate will contribute to various data-driven projects, assisting with data analysis, model development, and insights generation, specifically within the scope of our "UC Ruby" initiatives. This position is ideal for individuals eager to learn, grow, and make a tangible impact by transforming complex data into actionable intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of raw data from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and communicate findings through visualizations and reports.
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of basic machine learning models under the guidance of senior team members.
- Generate clear and concise reports, dashboards, and presentations to effectively communicate data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with researchers and other team members to understand project requirements and contribute to data-driven solutions.
- Continuously learn and apply new data science techniques, tools, and best practices.
- Contribute to the documentation of data processes, models, and analytical findings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
- 0 years of professional data science experience, but strong academic project work or relevant internships will be considered.
- Foundational understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning principles.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for data analysis (e.g., Python or R).
- Basic experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas) and data visualization tools.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to new challenges.
Preferred Requirement
- Experience with SQL for database querying and data extraction.
- Familiarity with data visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly) or tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or big data technologies.
- Any exposure to or willingness to learn Ruby programming language, given the "UC Ruby" designation.
- Participation in data science competitions or personal data projects.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
