UCTalent is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Back-End Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a "UC Ruby 4:24" engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the robust back-end systems that power UCTalent's innovative platforms. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or aspiring developer with 0 years of experience to kickstart their career in a supportive and collaborative environment, focusing on Ruby-based technologies. You will work closely with experienced engineers, learn best practices, and contribute to meaningful projects from day one. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and high-performance back-end services using Ruby.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define specifications, and implement solutions.
- Debug and resolve issues in existing applications, ensuring system stability and reliability.
- Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and development methodologies as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and system architecture.
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and robustness of new features.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience gained through bootcamps, self-study, or open-source contributions.
- 0 years of professional back-end development experience.
- Foundational understanding of programming principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language, with a strong interest in learning and working with Ruby.
- Basic understanding of web application architecture.
- Proficient English language skills, both written and verbal, for effective communication in a remote team setting.
- Ability to work full-time.
Preferred Requirement
- Some exposure to Ruby on Rails or other Ruby frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
- Familiarity with RESTful API principles.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Understanding of testing methodologies and experience writing tests.
- Any personal projects, open-source contributions, or academic projects demonstrating back-end development skills.
- Eagerness to learn about cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and challenges.
