About the Job
Demo Company is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Intern Java Back-End Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring engineer with 0 years of experience to gain hands-on experience in building and maintaining robust backend systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers, contributing to real-world projects, learning industry best practices, and developing your skills in a collaborative environment. This full-time internship is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to the software development lifecycle, focusing on Java-based backend technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs using Java.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code under the guidance of mentors.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Contribute to debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in existing applications.
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and best practices in backend development.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Fundamental understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Basic proficiency in Java programming language.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to a fast-paced development environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Requirement
- Coursework or personal projects demonstrating an understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Exposure to web services (e.g., RESTful APIs).
- Experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) like IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse.
- A portfolio of personal coding projects or contributions to open-source initiatives.
