About the Job
Asda is looking for a passionate and driven Intern Developer with a specialisation in Business Analysis to join our dynamic team. This full-time internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in translating business needs into technical solutions within a leading retail environment. Working closely with various teams, you will contribute to critical projects, enhance our digital capabilities, and learn the foundations of software development lifecycle from a business analysis perspective. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, grow, and make a tangible impact, leveraging up to 1 year of relevant experience or project work.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements from various stakeholders across different departments.
  • Translate business objectives and user needs into clear, concise functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Support the development and testing teams by clarifying requirements, resolving queries, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Participate in the analysis of existing business processes and identify areas for improvement and automation.
  • Contribute to the creation of user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate effectively with product owners, developers, quality assurance engineers, and project managers in an Agile environment.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making for new features and enhancements.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard business analysis tools and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related analytical field.
  • Up to 1 year of relevant academic project experience, professional exposure, or strong interest demonstrated through coursework in business analysis, systems analysis, or software development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data and draw conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Foundational understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Requirement
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their practical application.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or other data querying languages for data analysis.
  • Exposure to requirement management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • An understanding of retail business processes or supply chain operations.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and a keen desire to learn new technologies and business domains.
