About the Job
Hello Company is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Design to join our team on a part-time basis. In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the design strategy, ensuring exceptional user experiences, and maintaining a cohesive visual identity across our products. With at least 4 years of experience, you will leverage your expertise to elevate our design standards and contribute significantly to our product's success. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our design culture in a flexible, remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with business objectives and user needs.
- Lead the end-to-end user experience and user interface design for new and existing products and features.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and high-fidelity designs for various platforms.
- Establish and maintain design systems, style guides, and brand consistency across all touchpoints.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to translate requirements into compelling design solutions.
- Champion user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or a related creative field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of user experience principles, visual design, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Proven experience with user research methodologies, persona development, and usability testing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
- Strong ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in a role with no direct people management responsibilities, focusing on individual contribution.
Preferred Requirement
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or technology company environment.
- Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand technical feasibility.
- Experience in establishing, maintaining, and evolving design systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to design.
- Professional working proficiency in English, enabling seamless collaboration with global teams and resources.
