About the Job
UCTalent is seeking a highly skilled and exceptionally proficient Decision Scientist with a strong emphasis on Node.js development. This full-time role requires a candidate with at least 2 years of experience to leverage their deep analytical capabilities and master-level Node.js expertise to design, develop, and deploy robust data-driven solutions. You will be instrumental in building high-performance systems and APIs that support critical decision-making processes, bridging the gap between advanced analytics and scalable production-grade applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, resilient, and performant Node.js applications, serving as the backbone for data ingestion, processing, and API layers that expose analytical models and insights.
- Apply advanced proficiency in Node.js to architect and implement efficient backend systems that directly support and enhance data science initiatives and business decision workflows.
- Translate complex analytical models, algorithms, and data transformations into production-ready Node.js code, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams to understand business requirements and effectively craft Node.js solutions for new data-driven features and functionalities.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, debug, and optimize Node.js applications across the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring peak performance and stability.
- Stay comprehensively updated with the latest trends, best practices, and advancements within the Node.js ecosystem, continuously advocating for and implementing cutting-edge solutions.
- Contribute significantly to data strategy, the design of robust data pipelines, and MLOps practices, leveraging Node.js to streamline and automate these crucial processes.
- Conduct thorough data analysis and model validation as required to support the development and refinement of Node.js-based analytical solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in software development, with a demonstrable and strong focus on Node.js, or in a Decision Scientist role heavily leveraging Node.js for solution implementation.
- Exceptional and comprehensive proficiency in Node.js, including a deep understanding of its asynchronous programming paradigm, event loop, core modules, streams, and popular frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS.
- Solid grasp of software development best practices, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Proficiency with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) and strong SQL skills.
- Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a capacity to navigate complex technical challenges in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Requirement
- Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics).
- Demonstrated experience in building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models or advanced analytical tools leveraging Node.js for integration or serving layers.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless architectures.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data streaming.
- Experience implementing microservices architecture using Node.js.
- Knowledge of TypeScript for building scalable Node.js applications.
- A strong portfolio of Node.js projects or contributions to the open-source community.
